Plastic Free .
At Marsden & Farmer we have carefully sourced plastic free compostable wraps and labels.
As we have such a low carbon product, we want our packaging to be as environmentally friendly as possible too.
Our paper and cardboard is made from recycled sources, we have chosen not to use plastic cellophane.
Peat Free .
At Marsden & Farmer it is important to us that we do everything we can to ensure we a growing in an eco- conscious way that is why we grow using only peat free compost, we also create our own compost and leaf mulch from our mature trees, we are also very lucky to have manure from our pigs and chickens to help to grow our blooms.
Ensuring we help to maintain the finite supply of peat bog land and supporting this land to continue doing its very important job at absorbing carbon and locking it away from the earths atmosphere.

Leaf Mulch & compost.
At Marsden & Farmer we are very privileged to be surrounded by very large mature trees.
This gives us an excellent abundance of leaves every year to create our own homemade compost & leaf mulch that we use for our blooms.
We love to see autumn coming the the crunching of leaves as we collect this natural goodness to turn it into liquid gold that helps give our blooms that extra edge and vibrant colour!
Pollinator friendly.
At Marsden & Farmer our blooms are grown without chemical fertilisers, pesticides or preservatives and this isn’t unfortunately a standard practice.
There are many risks to a flower harvest and chemical applications are a common way of elongating the timeline and quality of the bloom, however taking time to look into the use of chemical sprays in the cut flower industry its quite a frightening picture.
The chemical pesticides used are harmful to bees and pollinators, but they also pose a risk to everybody in the supply chain who handle the application of these chemical sprays and the blooms often such as florists arranging the blooms.
By buying Locally grown flowers you can ensure that you have blooms in your home that don’t have an average of 10 chemicals on them.
By purchasing our blooms you can ensure they are chemical free.
